Is Laptop Size That Important?

The question in mobile computing has become, “Does size really matter or is it more important to have a powerful workhorse computer that allows you to fit all your productivity software and save as many movies as will fit on your productivity machine?” Another matter may be whether the smaller sizes are more concerning or if the light-weight portability is the main concern. I think the availability of different types of computers now lets us truly personalize our business machines into something that works for us all and doesn’t have to be run of the mill for everyone.

The production release of the new macbookair by Apple has really given us options with the size and what kind of mobile computing device we lug around with us daily. At less than 3 pounds and wafer thin, we don’t have to strain our shoulders every time we go on a trip. It has a 13 inch wide-screen and a normal keyboard. Tell me where I can get it today! This is the very quality I have been wanting.

When I first previewed the pitch for the MacBook Air with a slim, easy to carry computer coming out of that manila envelope, I was just stunned. Now, that’s the solution I’ve been searching for. Now it doesn’t have to be a workout to take my portable computer with me anymore! No extra bag that can weigh likely as much as the laptop, no more sweating, no longer taking up all that extra room! What a relief!

The never ending question of whether size is important is in front of us now and my answer, when it comes to a tiny portable notebook computer is a booming, “yes, Yes, YES!” Size does matter as does weight. For me and my mobile computer smaller is by far and away better.
