Would you spend thousands of dollars trying to market bags of sand in a desert?

Perhaps you would put advertisements for your course on tax law and estate planning on the Cartoon Television Network?

Not to say that you WOULDN’T market any items performing the above, but I think you would agree there would be much better “targeted promoting channels” that would have a much more responsive audience.

Well the same goes for your current marketing and advertising strategy, do you know if your marketing is hitting your desired audience?

This does go back a bit to my previous emails regarding measuring your marketing’s effectiveness, and tracking its outcomes, but also just in general…are you advertising and marketing within the right areas?

For example, should you are sending out coupons and flyers to particular areas near your business, just because they are near your business, do you know for a fact the men and women in these places meet your target market description?

I mean, you wouldn’t send out carpet cleaning flyers to low-income renters, in numerous apartments, just because they are across the street from your carpet cleaning business.

Why?

Since you can already tell that the chances of somebody paying income to clean a carpet that they don’t own, when they barely have sufficient to pay the bills as is, is really slim to none.

So just before you decide to just send out advertising material, and wait for the tracking final results to come back, take the time to identify if your even marketing to the right area, or demographics, and yourself some time and wasted income.

By undertaking proper exploration into an audience demographic, or residential location demographic, you’ll know (Ahead of spending your funds) whether it is a wise investment or not.
